Florida is known for many wonderful and beautiful things that often make our friends and family up north quite jealous. But it's always this time of year that us Floridians wish we had a little of bit of what they had. A Fall. A real Fall. With chilly temperatures, colorful leaves, apple picking and the need to pull out cute coats, scarves and boots. The summer weather has finally gone (for now anyway) and it's been a gorgeous week, but still not exactly the fall weather that most of the country is enjoying. Even when it's 80-something degrees out though, we love us some good fall fun!
Last week we made plans with our friends Carrie and Livi and made our first trip to the pumpkin patch. A Florida pumpkin patch is basically a church parking lot or field filled with pumpkins that were shipped in from some other pumpkin growing state. But guess what? It's all my kids will ever know of a pumpkin patch! And it wasn't bad at all. There were rows and rows and bins and bins of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes. Bridget loved it, Ross loved it and so did I. The big girls jumped in hay piles and picked out a few pumpkins to take home. They played and laughed while Ross wished his little legs could run along side with them...(next year they will!)
We ended the visit not with a hayride and hot cocoa, but a trip to McDonald's for ice cream! Ahhhh...Florida in the Fall:)
Bridget and Livi on a mission to find the prettiest pumpkins!
Counting them
Hello gorgeous!
This look didn't leave their faces as they sat in the itchy hay!
Hay fight!
"Is this real?" she asked.
We brought home some smaller pumpkins to paint later that night. I started one while Bridget copied what I did. She did great painting her very own eyes, nose and mouth!
We'll head back to our Florida pumpkin patch soon to pick out some big carving pumpkins for Halloween night!

I love Bridget's facial expressions in all these pictures, she's so funny!
It has been nice at night. I love the pumpkin example that you have and Bridget is being such a good student trying to make it look just like yours.
Looks like fun! Love Bridget's piggy tails! Soo cute!!
