At Home

It's amazing how quickly the summer is flying by.  Our lazy days of summer, really aren't so lazy.  It seems like everyday we something going on, but we are still finding plenty of time to just hang at home. We have toys coming out of ears around here, but the kids usually seem to find something else to do besides play with the toys.  Ross is a monkey-using chairs and stools to climb all over the place.  If there was ever really such a thing as "Terrible Twos", we might be in the midst of it.  Truthfully, he is good as gold when we are out and about with friends, but at home, when it's just us...watch out.

This is an old tie-dye t-shirt that was Bridget's.  He is obsessed with it.  He would wear this with his Gator basketball shorts every single day if I let him. (I don't!)

The kids fight and bicker A LOT.  Ross hasn't quite mastered sharing yet, so each minute is usually a struggle.  But there are times here and there when they play nice, share the same toys and give me a few minutes of peace and quiet.  And when I get it, I run with it, doing as much as I can whey they are playing nice!

They love playing on our phones.  I resisted for as long as I could, but finally just gave up.  It is what it is...

B loves to play dress up and usually arranges her ensembles in the most unique ways.   Tutus are her favorite and I love that she calls all her skirts-and mine-tutus!

Ross loves playing with wires and can find them ANYWHERE!

Playing with an actual toy is rare, but he does love his fire truck!

They test each others patience, and mine, constantly, but I know they really do love each other to pieces!

Celebrating the 4th

Happy Birthday, America!  Our big 4th celebration actually happened on the 3rd with great friends, yummy food, and a fireworks party in the mini-van!

We rallied up some of our favorite friends and met up for pizza before heading over the big fireworks show.  The parking lot for the fireworks was CRAZY and it was clear that we weren't all going to get spots next to each other.  We made our mini-van "home base" and once everyone found a spot, they made their way to us.  It was a party in the mini-van and the kids loved it!   We folded down the 3rd row and the kids had a ball!

They quickly found the snack stash and Ross even figured out how to play the music from my phone through the speakers in my car.  (Not kidding, he really did!)

We had lollipops and sparklers and sidewalk chalk to keep the kids occupied while we waited.  And when the fireworks came, they did NOT disappoint!

We couldn't have been closer.  They were right on top of us!

It really was a "blast" :)

The next day, the 4th, we were able to sleep in and take it easy.  Swimming and grilling by the pool without any hustle and bustle to get a fireworks show later that night.  We did check out our neighborhood bike parade for the first time.
