8 Months

Here we are again, at another monthly milestone. 8 BIG months for the little guy! Some things have stayed exactly the same since the day he was born. Like these cheeks...

...And the gorgeous blue eyes

...And the rolls of fat

He's still a happy guy too. He loves to smile...

He's crawling now too, but in his own way. It's more of a scooch than a crawl, but it most definitely gets him from Point A to Point B. Point A is usually a wire of some sort and Point B is usually the dog dishes! He's trying to pull up on things, but hasn't successfully done it yet. I went in to get him after his nap the other day and he had pulled up to his knees and was peeking out from the crib rails like a little caged animal!

He babbles all the time, loves to bang his fists on his high chair tray when we say, "Bang, bang, bang!" and is enjoying trying some new foods like ice cream, puffs and pumpkin bread! He is working on tooth #4 and he is currently sporting this snaggle tooth look...

This first top tooth cut a couple of weeks ago and the 2nd one has just barely broken his gums, but is taking its sweet time coming all the way down.

Every month on the 8th, I take a picture of him in the glider. This month he was literally about to jump out of it!

...and then dive off head first!

I can easily admit that I completely forgot how much work it is to have a baby on the move. He is naturally drawn to all the places we really don't want him in like under chairs, in the pantry and next to the dusty sliding glass door tracks! He can spot the teeniest, tiniest fleck of dirt on the floor and get there in seconds to pick it up. We have to tell him, "No, no" quite often now and I think Bridget is loving that someone else is finally being told "NO" around here!

Bridget is a huge help to me all the time. She is constantly trying to find toys for him to play with and loves helping cheer him up with her funny faces. She never acts jealous or upset when Ross's needs have to come first. I always find a way to have her be my helper and she's always more than happy to help out. I don't think it could be any more perfect! She loves him and he loves her and it's the most wonderful thing to watch their relationship grow. When we brought Ross home 8 months ago he was just a smelly baby (her words, not mine!) and now she affectionately calls him her Rossy Boy!

Everyone, I mean everyone, says he looks "just like Todd". My cousin, Meredith, saw this picture on Facebook and said he looked just like me in it. I never, ever, ever hear that, so I have to proudly show this one off to see if you think the same thing!

February still seems like it was just a few months ago, but really it's only a few more months away...turning 1 is just a hop, skip and a jump away!

A special thanks to my friends Missy, Carrie and Courtney who took some amazing pictures of the kids this month!

Well the good news is that Ross is still completely adorable, even with top teeth:) All of these descriptions of mobility made me cringe, Lucy is still blessedly stationary, but I know I don't have long! And...he does look like you...I swear it!
