We're Here...

Where have we been this month?  Pretty much in our car.  Driving to school, driving to activities, and just running the normal family of four errands.  Throw in a double ear infection, a cold or two and there you have September in a nutshell.

The plan was...that once school started, we probably need to cut back one of Bridget's activities.  She has school 5 mornings a week and now we're doing dance, gymnastics, and soccer.  Not to mention that with the exception of soccer, all of these things are at least 15-20 minutes from our house.  Now that we are a few weeks into all of this craziness, I am overwhelmed with it all, but Bridget is going strong and does NOT want to take a break from anything!  Ross gets dragged along to everything, but loves it too.

Loves hanging with the other little brothers during dance, snacking his way through gymnastics class and watching his big sister be a soccer star on Tuesday nights.  The verdict is still out, but I have a feeling she might win out on this one.

This is her second soccer season and she is doing awesome again!  She has scored in all 3 games so far and loves having her Daddy out there with her.

Another very special treat for Bridget recently was getting to be the first one in her class to bring home "Share Bear".  A classroom bear that goes home with students for the weekend.  We took Share Bear everywhere with us the weekend we had her and Bridget loved telling me what a big responsibility it was.  Her last year of preschool has started out so wonderfully and I'm already wishing that kindergarten wasn't looming so close.

And this guy?

A nut.  A silly, goofball, rowdy, busy boy.  He loves school also and they seem to love him too.  He's talking more and more everyday and even has a little girlfriend;)

Girl Time

Last Thursday I had to pick Bridget up from school early.  She had a little fever and big headache.  Luckily, her fever broke within a few hours and that was it, but to play it safe I didn't send her to school the next day.  Ross went anyway and Bridget and I (who really was fine!) made a Girls Day of it!

We started with a walk in the park on the boardwalk.  Bridget loved all the twists and turns and all the forks in the path, that made her choose which way to go.  Clearly, stopping to pose for pictures didn't bother her!

Next was the Children's Museum.  Bridget heard me talking on the phone the week earlier about going there with Ross and some other friends while she would be at school.  Her biggest adjustment to school so far this year had been going everyday.  She flat out told me, "Mom, I just want to stay home somedays."  Since then I've been making a point to do lots of fun and special things in the afternoons when I pick her up from school.  But having a morning just the two of us was even better!

I thought she might end up getting bored without a brother or a friend to play with at the museum, but she could have stayed all day!

We ended our morning a with a trip to the mall, because what kind of girls day would it be without some shopping and lunch?!
