New Books

We set out on Saturday morning with a mission to find some new books! I love that Bridget loves to read and while she has what seems like a gajillion books spread all thoughout the house, she pulls out those same ones over and over and over for us to read to her. Todd and I were ready to add some new ones to the mix. Barnes and Noble's children's area is like a little playground and we love going there. Bridget had the most fun climbing and jumping all over the little stage area they have. While I searched for the new books she, of course, managed to find her favorite one from home...D.W's Guide to Preschool!

We left with a few new books and I'm hoping they make it into our storytime routine!

Busy But Happy

Our week started very early last Monday morning, as we had to wake Bridget up at 6:30 a.m. to start her day. It was my first day back to work and her first day back at Grandma's. We, of course, both got new outfits for this day! Bridget was feeling a little too tired and shy to show hers off...

The little time we spend at home in the late afternoons and evenings is very busy. We walk and feed Harley, get dinner ready and if we're lucky we take a few minutes to relax. Actually, it's just me that needs to relax...Bridget seems to have all the energy in the world. My only complaint about this week is how tired I've been. I'm pregnant, teaching 1st grade and then coming home to a very busy almost-2-year-old. Luckily Todd has always helped out around the house, so I never feel like I'm doing it all by myself. And thank goodness he doesn't mind the quick and easy dinners that we end up having most weeknights!

Bridget has kept especially busy this week helping with the chores and reading to her dolls and stuffed animals. She is having a great time with Grandma on the weekdays and I'm so lucky to pick up a very happy little girl every afternoon!

Getting Ready for Fall

We are wrapping up our summer soon and I'll be sad to see it go. I can't say we've done too much over the past few weeks. Hanging out at home, mostly. Early pregnancy nausea has kept us from doing some things I was hoping to get to this summer, but that's okay. It's well worth it and I'm feeling much better each day!

Her vocabulary is multiplying so quickly. She started with 'Uh-oh' and now she says more words than I can count. Now...they're not all perfectly clear words, but we know what she's saying! Her newest ones include 'purple' (it's the only color word she says, so naturally everything is purple...'backpack' (Thanks Dora!)...'go' (she doesn't like red lights so we hear this one in the car all the time)...'hiiii' (both her 'hi' and 'bye' are drawn out like she's from Georgia, but her version of 'car' more resembles a Boston accent!)

We'll miss our summer days but we have lots to look forward this fall. Her 2nd birthday, Disney World, Gator Football, moving back into our house, fall holidays and of course watching my belly grow and grow and grow!
