Pretty Pictures

We kicked off Fall last month with a Fall photo shoot. Bridget was less than cooperative on picture day, but you'd never know it by these beautiful pictures. She wanted nothing to do the cute pumpkin, apple and hay props the photogapher had set up, but we managed to keep her somewhat happy with some Mimi M&M's and the freedom to run around the yard.

And even though we didn't get the pefect pumpkin shot that day...here we are a few weeks later at the pumpkin patch in our neighborhood. She picked up the pumpkin, look right at me, gave me a partial smile and I snapped just in time. Pretty cute!

Hey Birthday Girl!

Finally, I'm getting this big birthday post complete! Yeah, I've been really busy, but my computer has also been so slow lately, making uploading pictures nearly impossible. It's been a great week here at the Johnstons! The most exciting news is that Bridget turned 2 last Thursday, October 15th. I can't believe it's been 2 years already! Celebrating her 2nd birthday has made me even more excited to welcome another one is just 4 short months. I can't wait to do it all over again!

We celebrated both on her actual birthday and a few days later with family and just a few friends. She was spoiled with so many wonderful presents, but it sure is great to have some new fun toys around the house. With her birthday being pretty close to Christmas, it's been quite awhile since she's gotten so many new things at once. She loved ripping into the presents this year and wanted to play with all the new toys immediately!

Our 2 year old little girl is so much fun to be around everyday. Her favorite words right now are "Mo"...which means NO, and we hear it quite often. And "Oh-tay!" She loves to sing and hum songs and is getting pretty good at humming a familiar tune and she tries her very best to sing the words to her favorite songs. She tucks in and kisses her baby dolls good night every evening and she loves her bedtime stories. We'll tell her to go and choose "one more book" and she comes back with four! She loves getting dressed and re-dressed throughout the day and fortunately she has no problems wearing what I pick out for her. She loves trucks and cars and doesn't mind taking big tumbles, but she still loves a pretty tutu and sparkly shoes. A very funny moment from her birthday party was when she opened a new pair of pink Crocs from Aunt Caroline. She ripped off the shoes she had on to put on the new ones...then not even 5 minutes later she opened another new pair of shoes from Uncle Kevan and Kimmy, ripped off the Crocs and put those on! She still wakes up every morning between 5 and 6 and wiggles her way between us in our bed.

She is part baby, part toddler, but most importantly she is all ours!

Fall Fun!

Fall is here, but not here...It is still in the 90's, humidity is still making my hair frizz and our cute fall clothes are not ready to come out of the closet. So, a trip up north was due to experience a real fall weekend! My mom, Bridget and I headed back up to Louisville to see Jody and the rest of the family. We couldn't have picked a more perfect weekend. It was crisp and cool. Perfect for jeans and sweaters for me...tights and hats for Bridget!

Another thing we can only get in Louisville is more cousins, aunts, unlces, and grandmas than one can imagine. On Friday night we celebrated my cousin Abby's 3rd birthday with the Garner family and then on Saturday we drove out the country to an orchard and pumpkin farm with the Hancock family. The night was topped off with a fried chicken dinner back at my grandma's.

Bridget was a perfect little traveler and enjoyed every second of her weekend. She brunched with the girls, shared a big girl bed with me (she did fall out one night, but she's okay!), and she giggled during take off and landing in the airplane. She had a few firsts too...

We were very ready to come home to Daddy on Sunday, but can't wait to see everyone again! Happy Fall!
