In between all my stay at home mom duties this week, I've had another task I've been working on. Some friends and I are taking a photography class together and this week was our first class. We all have fairly new cameras and not much clue how to really use them. I'm not trying to get too fancy with my photography skills, but I definitely want to be able to do more than just point and shoot. So my first assignment was to take an action shot. Easy enough. My kids are really active! 1000 or so pictures later, I have only 3 pictures that I'm sort of happy with.
Okay one more-I kind of like this one, but I'm not sure if it's clear that this is an action shot. I'm twirling Bridget around with my left hand, taking the picture with my right.
I've never really had a hobby before, so I'm enjoying being able to put some time and effort into this. Hopefully they'll be more and better actions shots coming soon! Plus, a big thanks to Todd for being more than happy to spend the next five Monday nights with the kids doing all the nighttime chores-dinner, bath and bedtime!
Last Friday we squeezed in one last play date before everyone headed back to school this week. Grace and Ellie are Bridget's most favorite big girl friends. She talks about them all the time and they are SO SWEET to have the patience to sit and play with a three year old the way they do...especially since Bridget still sometimes gets confused about which one is Grace and which one is Ellie:)
New Years was very uneventful around here. Bridget was up until 10:30 watching a movie and Todd and I both fell asleep on the couch during the movie! Bridget woke us up when it was over and asked to go to bed. The champagne we had hoped to toast 2011 with is still in the fridge! Maybe we'll pop it this weekend...
Todd had Monday off and my sister, Caroline, had one last day at home before heading back to Gainesville. It was a lazy day with board games and outside playtime.
Hooray for the 1st Gator football victory of 2011!
Ross and Drew deep in conversation about men stuff.
"No Ross, you can't go in the road! It dangerous," she said.
One of the many girly things Ross is forced to do on a daily basis-tea parties with teddy bears.
Fighting over goldfish, Ross's new favorite food!
Even though we did not officially get to toast 2011 with champagne yet, we are looking forward to this year and already have some very exciting plans underway. We are so blessed to start another year happy and healthy and surrounded by the most wonderful friends and family!

I'm totally stealing ur learning To use ur camera idea and adding it to my list of resolutions!!!! Good for u although u already take great pics....maybe cause ur subjects r so darn cute!
Great action shots! You'll have to teach me the tricks!! It was so hard to take pictures at the kids' gymnastics class. It doesn't help that they're 100 yards away from me and there is no good lighting in there. Hopefully you and Courtney will be blogging about what you learned...for my sake! LOL :)
How exciting about your class!! I signed up for one as well but there was no availabilty until April so I have a few months to wait! I'm jealous - Your pics all looks so good!!!
