Be Patient

It's been my motto for the week. What I've had to tell myself over and over in my head when...Ross refuses to lay still for diaper changes...when Bridget insists on washing her hands all by herself 10 times in an hour...when Ross can only fuss and whine to tell us what he wants...when Bridget pulled down not just one, but 2, curtains and curtain rods from the wall...when she ran and jumped on her bed without paying attention to what she was doing and kicked Ross in the face-that one was a hard one to stay patient for. And I failed, miserably.

An (almost) 1 year old and a 3 year old. I think we're approaching one of the more difficult stages of raising two babies. I'm sure this has just been a rough couple of days and next week I'll forget all about how overwhelmed I'm feeling right now. It's the kind of week where simple tasks like emptying the dishwasher is a carefully planned task because there just isn't time to do it. Plus, I've been a little preoccupied trying to figure out some new things I want to learn to do with my pictures. It's not coming easy to me and I hate that! And since I've been spending my free time trying to figure it out, guess what's piling up...the laundry, the toys, the clutter. It's not pretty around here.

Thanks goodness there are still plenty of sweet moments to keep me afloat on weeks like this.

See what I mean...

They are so sweet even when they are testing every last bit of my patience!

Stay strong! Keep telling yourself to be patient and this phase will pass soon. All Mom's go through it. I'll be thinking about you.

I think I have a false sense of what it's like with 2 kids because Grady is not mobile! I can only imagine how busy and exhausting it'll be when I'm chasing after 2 at once!! Oh my! Please take notes on how it's done! I'll need them in a few months! :)

Wow! It's like you're speaking to me! LOL I totally get this post...I too plan unloading the dishwasher every time it has to be done. I can't do it when the kids are sleeping (it'd wake them up) and I can't do it with Lexi awake (because she grabs knives, wine glasses, etc.). So when I hear her wake up in her crib, I quickly unload it and then go get her after I'm done. I think we all are going to have to be patient until they move out of the house. Ha! Because with each new phase in their lives, you have to become patient with a new 'thing'. No matter the age of the child...we'll be complaining about the same thing for years to come!

On a completely different note...I'm jealous that Bridget's smiley face is 10 x's better than Devin's. It even has ears for Pete's sake! Bridget needs to teach Devin next time we see her. :)

I seriously could have written this exact same blog, lol! I feel you on every single thing. It's so hard yet so rewarding at the same time. So frustrating yet so unbelievably amazing. Ahhh, the joys of parenthood!!! Hugs!!! And btw, your pictures are looking sooooo good!! Keep up the good work on your adorable models!!

I have no idea what you are talking about in this post. My children are angels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And I'm incredibly patient, always. Also, I never yell:)
