It's so hard to believe another school year is over. Bridget wrapped up the preschool phase of her life and Ross made it through his first year with flying colors. It was sad (mostly for me!) those last few days knowing that Bridget would be moving on to the real world, big kid school in just a few months. She had the sweetest class this year and a teacher who went above and beyond more times that I can count. Bridget didn't quite get the sad part of the last day, but I'm thankful for that. She was ready to start summer and is so excited about being a (almost) kindergartener now!
Ross still has two more years at our beloved preschool, but I know now just how fast that time will fly. His very first teachers were so wonderful with him and I couldn't help but get emotional on his last day too. It's not easy leaving your kids and dropping them off with people who are virtually strangers at the beginning of the year. Those 'strangers' became some of Ross' favorite people ever and I loved watching the comfort and trust he got from them throughout the year.
First and last day of school picture:
Despite those emotional last days...the reality that summer was here set in and we are loving it! We're bending bedtime rules, swimming ourselves silly, having movie afternoons, sleeping in and lounging too long in our pajamas, and loving the absence of schedules and start times.
Just a few days into summer we had a long awaited visit from my sister, Jody. We celebrated a long weekend together as my other sister, Caroline, gets ready to make a big move up to Indiana. We love a good party, so we did just that!
Getting ready with my mini me!
Slightly obsessed with her new shoes from Jody. Bridget is quickly learning that animal print is a neutral and goes with just about anything!
Yes, we do have a brother, but it seems as though he is never available for pictures. Sorry, Drewy!
Girls night at home. I definitely wish we could hang out like this more like once a week, instead of a few times year, but really that is what makes every visit so special. Already looking forward to when we're all together again for the holidays!
