A Few Hot Spots

Besides our awesome family, Louisville has a few must-do's on their list. We checked out Lynn's Paradise Cafe, which has featured on The Food Network more than once. It's loud and crazy and quirky in there and no one noticed Ross banging his fork on the table or his constant squeals for more ketchup!

Bridget was mesmerized by all the crazy decorations

One thing that Florida just doesn't seem to have are old fashioned mom & pop ice cream shops. We have lots of fancy places that can easily cost us $20+ dollars for the four us. One night after dinner (we were all STUFFED, but who says no to ice cream on vacation??) Jody took us to her favorite ice cream place. It was an old little walk up building with a few table outside. It was packed and we all ordered cones and shakes and other cold treats. 6 adults, 2 kids and lots of ice cream later and we paid only $15!

I ordered Bridget, "the smallest chocolate cone you have with sprinkles". Nothing small about this!

I thought I was ordering a basic chocolate shake for myself, but actually ordered a chocolate shake with Pepsi in it?!?! Ross thought it was great!

We spent one morning at the Louisville Zoo. It was H-O-T, but worth the heat.

If any of you know about "The Face" that Ross gives, you'll see that this gorilla is giving the exact same face!

And if you know nothing at all about Louisville, surely you know about the Kentucky Derby! We toured Churchill Downs one morning and it just might be the best thing about Louisville! It was an overcast muggy day and the track wasn't even open for racing, but you could still sense the excitement and significance of the racetrack. Jody says that the Derby is her all time favorite day of the year!

And there you have it, our trip to Lousiville! It was great to get home, but we miss each and every one of you up there!
