Twice as Nice

Everyday Ross leaves behind some of his newborn ways to make room for new discoveries and big boy adventures. Up until now, Bridget has been the only one playing and having fun while Ross patiently watches from the comfort of some newborn contraption...the Bumbo, the Baby Bjorn, and his favorite device, my arms! In the past week or so, he has been joining her for some fun playtime and it's been great to do activities that they both really enjoy at the same time.

They're both loving our ABC blocks these day. Ross chews on them and shakes them, while Bridget tries to figure out new ways to get the little pieces inside to move and wiggle.

Earlier this week I took a big chance and took them both to the pool all by myself. I would have been happy if we made it an hour, but to my surprise we stayed all morning-3 1/2 hours of pool time! Ross splashed and played in our inflatable boat while Bridget swam beside us and practiced spinning and floating. The toughest part was getting everyone lathered in sunscreen, loading up the car and dragging it all to the pool. Bridget is becoming such a good little helper though and I can always count on her lend me a hand.

We were there by 9:00 and had the whole pool to ourselves for quite awhile.

When Ross got sleepy, it took just a few minutes of pushing him in the stroller to get him to sleep. What a life!

Maybe it was just my imagination, but yesterday afternoon seemed to be breezy and much more comfortable outside. We took a wagon ride down the street and then it was back to the driveway for the usual...sidewalk chalk, hula hooping and bike riding!

There is nothing better than waking up each morning and having a the whole day ahead of us like a blank canvas. Whether we do a lot or a little, I love being with these two all day long!

Okay, I'm officially jealous! I wish I could have a blank canvas to work with and spend the days with my kids too. Instead I only have Sat and Sun and must accomplish errands & chores and still make sure to spend quality time with the kids. I also love your neighborhood where you can enjoy a morning in/by the pool and an afternoon in the driveway. We fight mosquitoes, wild animals and have a limerock driveway. :( Can we move in with you?! LOL You are the best mom Jess and your kids are always going to remember the quality time you spent with them. It's not easy to do what you do (not sure when you get to rest) but you manage to make it look easy and fun! Did I say I was jealous?! LOL

A whole morning at the pool, oh how wonderful. These are the days that you look at your life and say, "I'm the luckiest person alive!"
