This 4th of July weekend kicked off our long awaited vacation week! It was wet and rainy, but that definitely didn't put a damper on the holiday fun.
Actually, Friday wasn't so rainy and Bridget and I had a girls beach day with some friends. I almost didn't go because I had so much to get ready for our vacation, but I'm so glad I did. Bridget had a ball and I loved catching up with my work friends. Ross stayed at home with Grandma, but he'll have his share of the beach later this week!
We spent Saturday with The Baileys-Chris, Jessi and Gabe-hoping to catch the Miromar fireworks from their neighborhood. It seemed as though the rain was going to interfere and by 9:00 the kids were all getting tired. We decided to head home much to Bridget's disappointment. She was so ready for fireworks. We had been counting down all week. As we left Chris and Jessi's and got onto the main road, the rain had nearly stopped and people were opening their cars for fireworks tailgating. We took a chance and drove into the Publix parking lot, found a great spot, and within the minutes the show began. Bridget was thrilled! Not just because we were watching fireworks, but we were watching them at one of her very favorite spots-PUBLIX! She couldn't get over it. Fireworks at Publix?!?!
Ross was so sleepy, but stayed awake and happy for the show. That's our good boy!

We cooked out at my parents on Sunday and watched more fireworks from their lanai. Bridget "Oohed" and "Aahed" to each one and was more than happy to once again be staying up way past bedtime.
I was determined to get a family photo. I made Caroline snap about 25 pictures and believe it or not this was the "best" one. I have two very squirmy-wormy kids who do NOT like the camera!
Vacation week continues tomorrow with a trip to Captiva. Bridget packed her own bag today with some favorite books and toys. WE ARE READY!

What we will do to get a good family photo. Glad you came to the beach and had a fun time with all the fourth celebrations.
Bridget's dress looks darling! I can't believe how much Ross has changed! Jody and I decided it is time for you guys to visit us again!!! The kids would have so much fun!!!
